What we collect
- Your Telegram user ID, username, first name, and chosen interface language.
- The essay text or voice file you submit, the IELTS prompt you pair it with, and the AI grading result.
- Aggregated usage data: how many evaluations you've run, your subscription tier, payment status.
Why we collect it
- To grade your essays and show you results — the core function.
- To enforce the free-tier weekly limit fairly.
- To let you re-read past evaluations via the
/historycommand. - To diagnose product issues (we read flagged or failed grading runs).
Who sees it
- Anthropic processes the essay text when grading. Anthropic's API terms state customer API traffic is not used for training their models.
- OpenAI processes the voice file when transcribing (Whisper). Same: API audio data is not used for training.
- The IELTSer operator (the person running the bot) has read access to the database for debugging. We don't share user content with anyone else.
Where it lives
On a single server in Tashkent. Daily SQLite backups are kept for 14 days. We don't use third-party analytics on this website — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is the admin-panel session cookie, which only operators see.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you want your data deleted, message the bot operator via /help and we'll delete your user record, submissions, and voice files within seven days.
Your rights
You can view all your past submissions via the bot's /history command. You can ask for export or deletion at any time.
Children
IELTSer is intended for people preparing for IELTS, typically 16 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from younger users.
